On Monday, 30 March 2015, in the afternoon at 12:49, in Utenos district municipality, on Smėlio street near No. 5, a side collision with neither vehicle turning occurred. The collision involved an Audi A6 Avant, an Audi A4, a Mitsubishi Pajero, an Opel Zafira - A and a Fiat Brava. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 30-year-old driver of the Audi A6 Avant, who exceeded the speed set by traffic rules or road signs and failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. All drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
