On Tuesday, 7 April 2015, at night at 4:50, in Kaunas, on Kranto al. near No. 86, a traffic accident occurred. The accident involved a Mazda 323 and a BMW 316. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 18-year-old driver of the BMW (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
