On Friday, 1 May 2015, at night at 3:32, in Kaunas, on Taikos pr., at the junction with A. Baranausko street, a side collision with neither vehicle turning occurred. The collision involved a BMW 535 and a Renault Master. Four people were injured — the 45-year-old driver of the BMW (hospitalized), a 63-year-old passenger of the Renault (hospitalized), the 25-year-old driver of the Renault (treated as an outpatient) and a 53-year-old passenger of the Renault (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 45-year-old driver of the BMW (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
