On Saturday, 16 May 2015, at night at 0:30, in Alytaus district municipality, on the Vaisodžiai–Raižiai–Butrimonys regional road (kilometre 4), a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Golf and a Volkswagen Passat. One person was injured — the 20-year-old driver of the Volkswagen Passat (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 23-year-old driver of the Volkswagen Golf, who entered the oncoming traffic lane. He was drunk (0.58‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
