The collision involved an Audi A4 Avant, a BMW X3, a Volvo C30 and a KIA Motors ED,cee'd. One person was injured — the 31-year-old driver of the BMW (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 33-year-old driver of the Audi (11 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (1.08‰ blood alcohol). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
