On Wednesday, 20 May 2015, in the morning at 9:40, in Trakų district municipality, on the Vilnius–Prienai–Marijampolė main road (kilometre 26.50), a collision occurred. The collision involved a Volvo S40 and a Ford Mondeo. Three people were injured — the 24-year-old driver of the Volvo (hospitalized), a 68-year-old passenger of the Ford (hospitalized) and the 69-year-old driver of the Ford (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 24-year-old driver of the Volvo (7 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
