On Saturday, 23 May 2015, in the evening at around 22:00, in Vilkaviškio district municipality, on S.Daukanto street, at the junction with Kapų street, a collision with a motorcycle occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Passat and a KTM 450EXC. Two people were injured — the 20-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (treated as an outpatient) and the 20-year-old driver of the KTM (hospitalized, had no driving licence). The accident was caused by the 20-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (1 year of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
