On Sunday, 7 June 2015, in the evening at around 18:00, in Lazdijų district municipality, Metelių village, on Liepų street near No. 1, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved an Audi A4 and an Opel Astra-G-Caravan. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 19-year-old driver of the Audi, who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (2.01‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
