On Saturday, 11 July 2015, in the afternoon at 11:40, in Kretingos district municipality, on Melioratorių street, at the junction with J. Jablonskio street, a side collision with neither vehicle turning occurred. The collision involved a Ford Focus, an Opel Vectra and an Opel Zafira. Three people were injured — a 72-year-old passenger of the Ford (hospitalized), a 58-year-old passenger of the Opel Vectra (treated as an outpatient) and a 9-year-old passenger of the Opel Zafira (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 71-year-old driver of the Ford (20 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. All drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
