On Saturday, 18 July 2015, in the afternoon at around 14:00, in Tauragės district municipality, on the Ryga–Šiauliai–Tauragė–Kaliningradas main road (kilometre 129.93), a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. The collision involved an Opel Vectra and a Citroen C5. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 70-year-old driver of the Opel (41 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
