On Friday, 31 July 2015, in the evening at 21:30, in Šakių district municipality, Girėnų village, on Kauno street, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Ford Focus and a Volkswagen Golf. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 19-year-old driver of the Ford (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance.
