On Friday, 24 July 2015, in the evening at around 18:00, in Kaunas, on Varnių street near No. 50, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Golf and a Toyota Corolla Verso. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 22-year-old driver of the Volkswagen, who committed other traffic rule violations. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
