On Tuesday, 4 August 2015, in the evening at 17:45, in Klaipėdos district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 286.38), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volvo FH12, a Krone SD and a BMW 5ER Reihe. Two people were injured — a 45-year-old passenger of the BMW (hospitalized) and the 48-year-old driver of the BMW (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 57-year-old driver of the Volvo (39 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
