On Wednesday, 21 October 2015, in the afternoon at around 16:00, in Kaunas, on S. Žukausko street, at the junction with P. Lukšio street, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a BMW 530 D and a GAZ 24. Three people were injured — the 24-year-old driver of the BMW (treated as an outpatient), the 73-year-old driver of the GAZ (hospitalized) and a 43-year-old passenger of the GAZ (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 24-year-old driver of the BMW (6 years of driving experience), who exceeded the speed set by traffic rules or road signs. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
