Drunk Opel driver flees after hitting a pedestrian at a crossing at Klaipėdos g. and Tulpių g., Panevėžys
On Tuesday, 3 November 2015, in the evening at 18:52, in Panevėžys, on Klaipėdos street, at the junction with Tulpių street, an Opel Astra Sports Tourer hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person was injured — a 63-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 45-year-old driver of the Opel (16 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. She fled the scene. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
