On Saturday, 14 November 2015, in the evening at 20:57, in Vilnius, on Sodų street near No. 17, at the junction with V. Šopeno street, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Mazda 3 and an Evobus O 530. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 24-year-old driver of the Mazda (5 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection and failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (1.46‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
