On Tuesday, 17 November 2015, in the evening at 17:15, in Klaipėda, on Laukininkų street near No. ties 17,, at the junction with Vingio street, a BMW 330 XD hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person was injured — a 16-year-old pedestrian (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 64-year-old driver of the BMW (30 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. He fled the scene. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
