On Tuesday, 24 November 2015, in the afternoon at 11:25, in Tauragės district municipality, on the Šakvietis–Lomiai–Eidintai regional road (kilometre 9.98), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved an Alfa Romeo 156 and a Peugeot 406. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 24-year-old driver of the Alfa Romeo (5 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations, violated overtaking rules and failed to choose a safe speed. She was drunk (2.05‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
