On Thursday, 3 December 2015, in the evening at around 20:00, in Kaunas, on Vaidoto street, at the junction with Mažoji street, a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. The collision involved a Land Rover Discovery and a Toyota Corolla Verso. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 59-year-old driver of the Land Rover (20 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, there was freezing rain, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
