On Wednesday, 23 December 2015, at night at around 23:00, in Pagėgių municipality, Mikytų village, on the Ryga–Šiauliai–Tauragė–Kaliningradas main road, an Opel Astra Sports Tourer ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 18-year-old driver of the Opel (2 years of driving experience), who failed to comply with road signs or markings and failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
