On Monday, 28 December 2015, in the evening at around 17:00, in Jurbarko district municipality, on the Kaunas–Jurbarkas–Šilutė–Klaipėda national road (kilometre 89.20), a Volkswagen Golf hit an animal. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 66-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (26 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was icy. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
