On Tuesday, 29 December 2015, in the evening at 22:53, in Vilniaus district municipality, on the Vilnius–Panevėžys (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 12), a Renault Laguna hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 29-year-old driver of the Renault (3 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.98‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
