On Thursday, 31 December 2015, in the evening at around 22:00, in Kaunas, on Tvirtovės al. near No. 33A, a Mercedes-Benz C 220 CDI hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 69-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz (35 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations and failed to give way when changing direction. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
