Drunk Volvo driver hits a parked Volvo on Žirnių g., Vilnius

On Monday, 4 January 2016, in the afternoon at 16:54, in Vilnius, on Žirnių street near No. 28A, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Volvo, a Volvo and an Opel Zafira. Two people were injured — a 19-year-old passenger of the Volvo (treated as an outpatient) and the 26-year-old driver of the Volvo (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 22-year-old driver of the Volvo (3 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance and failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.95‰ blood alcohol). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, the weather was clear, the road surface was icy. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
