On Friday, 22 January 2016, in the morning at 9:21, in Kauno district municipality, on the Kaunas–Marijampolė–Suvalkai main road (kilometre 17), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Scania R420 registered in Latvia, a Schmitz SKO 24 registered in Ukraine and a Renault Magnum registered in Ukraine. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 47-year-old driver of the Scania (30 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. Both drivers were sober.
