On Tuesday, 26 January 2016, in the evening at 17:10, in Zarasų district municipality, on the Kaunas–Zarasai–Daugpilis main road (kilometre 164.14), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Dodge Nitro and a Volkswagen Caddy. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 47-year-old driver of the Dodge (25 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations, failed to choose a safe speed and entered the oncoming traffic lane.
