On Saturday, 30 January 2016, in the evening at 21:20, in Kauno district municipality, Akademijos town, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Seat Leon and a Volkswagen Passat. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 35-year-old driver of the Seat (16 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
