On Monday, 1 February 2016, in the evening at around 17:00, in Kaunas, on Islandijos pl. near No. 32, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a DAF FT XF 105.460T registered in Belarus, an Audi A4, a BMW Serie 5, a Schmitz and a car. Two people were injured — the 39-year-old driver of a car (treated as an outpatient) and the 41-year-old driver of the Audi (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 44-year-old driver of the DAF (4 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. All drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 80 km/h.
