On Tuesday, 9 February 2016, in the morning at 9:23, in Šiauliai, on J. Basanavičiaus street near No. 53, an Iveco 65C14 registered in Sweden hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 37-year-old driver of the Iveco (20 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober. A 45-year-old pedestrian was drunk (1.07‰). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
