On Saturday, 27 February 2016, in the afternoon at around 11:00, in Kaunas, on Savanorių pr. near No. 111, at a yard or parking-lot exit, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Mercedes-Benz 190 and a Volkswagen Jetta. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 78-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz (42 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
