On Monday, 7 March 2016, in the morning at 10:35, in Kauno district municipality, on the Kaunas–Zapyškis–Šakiai national road (kilometre 25.90), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Renault Clio and a Mercedes-Benz Actros 1841. One person was injured — the 52-year-old driver of the Renault (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 52-year-old driver of the Renault, who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. He was drunk (2.73‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence.
