On Tuesday, 15 March 2016, in the morning at 9:30, in Kaunas, on M. K. Čiurlionio street, at the junction with Vytauto pr., a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved an Audi 80 and a Mercedes-Benz. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 71-year-old driver of the Audi (41 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
