On Tuesday, 15 March 2016, in the evening at 20:42, in Tauragės district municipality, on T. Ivanausko street near No. 121, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Mercedes-Benz S320 registered in Belgium and an Audi A4 Avant. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 35-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz (16 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations and failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.71‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was twilight, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
