On Saturday, 26 March 2016, in the afternoon at 15:05, in Tauragės district municipality, on Prezidento street, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Peugeot registered in France and an Audi A4. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 38-year-old driver of the Peugeot, who violated overtaking rules and failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (0.75‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
