On Tuesday, 5 April 2016, in the evening at 18:26, in Klaipėdos city municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 305), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a BMW 523i, a Peugeot 206, a Volkswagen Polo and a Peugeot 407. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 24-year-old driver of the BMW (5 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations, failed to keep a safe distance and failed to choose a safe speed. All drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
