On Monday, 11 April 2016, in the evening at 21:25, in Raseinių district municipality, on the Ariogala–Raseiniai–Kryžkalnis national road (kilometre 54.11), a side collision with neither vehicle turning occurred. The collision involved an Audi 80 Avant and a Volvo S60. Three people were injured — the 25-year-old driver of the Volvo (treated as an outpatient), a 18-year-old passenger of the Audi (hospitalized) and a 16-year-old passenger of the Audi (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 20-year-old driver of the Audi (1 year of driving experience), who failed to comply with road signs or markings and failed to give way when crossing an intersection. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
