On Thursday, 7 April 2016, in the afternoon at around 13:00, in Kaunas, on Maironio street near No. 4, a vehicle hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person was injured — a 18-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by an unidentified person, who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. He fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
