On Sunday, 17 April 2016, at night at 1:18, in Klaipėda, on Debreceno street near No. 54A, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Peugeot 406 and a Volkswagen Passat. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 56-year-old driver of the Peugeot (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (1.48‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
