On Sunday, 1 May 2016, in the afternoon at 16:12, in Kretingos district municipality, on Melioratorių street, at the junction with Žemaitės al., a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. Two people were injured — a 34-year-old passenger of the Suzuki GSX-R 750 (hospitalized) and the 26-year-old driver of the Suzuki GSX-R 750 (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 30-year-old driver of the Suzuki Swift (10 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
