On Tuesday, 3 May 2016, in the afternoon at 16:55, in Širvintų district municipality, on the Vilnius–Panevėžys (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 54), a Toyota Hilux hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 47-year-old driver of the Toyota (18 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
