On Friday, 13 May 2016, in the afternoon at around 13:00, in Kaunas, on Gimnazijos street, at the junction with Šv. Gertrūdos street, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Dacia and a Volkswagen Golf. Two people were injured — a 21-year-old passenger of the Volkswagen (treated as an outpatient) and a 21-year-old passenger of the Volkswagen (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 49-year-old driver of the Dacia (19 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
