On Thursday, 26 May 2016, in the afternoon at 12:05, in Kaunas, on Jonavos street, at the junction with Nuokalnės street, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved an Opel Zafira and a VAN Hool. Three people were injured — a 10-year-old passenger of the VAN Hool (treated as an outpatient), a 11-year-old passenger of the VAN Hool (treated as an outpatient) and a 11-year-old passenger of the VAN Hool (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 89-year-old driver of the Opel (50 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. Both drivers were sober.
