On Sunday, 26 June 2016, at night at 0:26, in Kaunas, on Taikos pr., at the junction with J. Basanavičiaus al., a side collision with neither vehicle turning occurred. The collision involved an Opel Astra and a Volkswagen Passat. Two people were injured — a 22-year-old passenger of the Volkswagen (treated as an outpatient) and the 46-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 18-year-old driver of the Opel (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. Both drivers were sober.
