On Sunday, 26 June 2016, in the afternoon at 15:30, in Kaunas, on R. Kalantos street, at the junction with T. Masiulio street, a collision occurred. The collision involved a Renault Laguna registered in Germany and a Toyota Yaris. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 36-year-old driver of the Renault, who committed other traffic rule violations and failed to give way when changing direction. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
