On Sunday, 17 July 2016, in the afternoon at 16:55, in Vilnius, on S. Žukausko street, at the junction with P. Lukšio street, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Toyota Celica, a Volkswagen Jetta and a Nissan. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 27-year-old driver of the Toyota, who failed to comply with road signs or markings, committed other traffic rule violations, failed to give way when changing direction and entered the oncoming traffic lane. He was drunk (2.27‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
