On Wednesday, 27 July 2016, in the evening at 18:20, in Kauno district municipality, on the Kaunas–Marijampolė–Suvalkai (kelio ruožo su skir. juosta d. pusė) main road (kilometre 17.80), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a DAF FAR 2800 registered in Poland, a 021 and a MTZ Belarus-82. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 30-year-old driver of the DAF (3 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
