On Saturday, 6 August 2016, in the evening at 20:11, in Vilnius, on Kareivių street, at the junction with Verkių street, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Mitsubishi Carisma and a BMW 3er Reihe. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 20-year-old driver of the Mitsubishi, who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (1.07‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
