On Saturday, 13 August 2016, in the evening at 17:44, in Šiauliai, on Baltų street, at the junction with Sembos street, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The accident was caused by the 27-year-old driver of the Opel, who committed other traffic rule violations, failed to keep a safe distance and failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.11‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. A 30-year-old passenger of the Opel was drunk (2.66‰). A 38-year-old passenger of the Opel was drunk (1.91‰). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was wet.
