On Tuesday, 16 August 2016, in the afternoon at 13:31, in Vilnius, on Pilies street near No. 24, a BMW hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 32-year-old driver of the BMW (13 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was raining, the road surface was wet.
