On Friday, 19 August 2016, in the morning at around 10:00, in Šiauliai, on Aido street near No. 41, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Mercedes-Benz 124 registered in Germany and a Toyota Avensis Verso. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 18-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz, who committed other traffic rule violations, violated overtaking rules and failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
